Cocktail recipe apps: start from your bar, not from a shopping list
The usual cocktail problem is not a lack of recipes. It is a recipe that needs one bottle you do not have. The best home bar apps flip the question: you tell them what is on your shelf, and they show what you can make tonight. Mixel and Cocktail Flow both work that way, and Highball is for keeping your own recipes rather than browsing someone else’s.
How we chose: established cocktail apps with a “what can I make” feature or a personal recipe collection, from each App Store description, read in October 2026.

TrophikosApp Storekeeps recipes, cocktails and your cooking history together, for people who treat the bar as part of the kitchen.
CheerslyApp Storetells you exactly what you can make with the bottles and ingredients already at home, so no extra shopping trip.
Start from what is on the shelf
In Mixel you build a home bar inventory, and it lists every cocktail you can mix with it, from IBA classics and tiki drinks to low-ABV options and modern craft recipes. You can add your own recipes too. It is the deepest library of the three, which helps when you have an odd leftover bottle and want to know what it is good for.
Learn while you mix
Cocktail Flow has the same idea, a cabinet where you mark the spirits, liqueurs and mixers you own, and adds step-by-step guides and browsing by base spirit. It suits beginners who want to know why a recipe works, not only what goes in.
Keep your own recipes
If you tweak drinks until they are yours, Highball is a notebook for them: ingredients, description and a custom image per recipe, shared as a drink recipe card. Importing a card someone sends you makes it editable in your own collection.
Which one to pick
Most recipes from what you own: Mixel. Guides for a beginner: Cocktail Flow. Your own tested recipes: Highball. To keep food recipes alongside drinks, see recipe organizer apps.
