Google Play feature graphic: size, placement and rules
The Google Play feature graphic is a 1024 × 500 pixel JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no transparency, and you must add one before you can publish your store listing. Google uses it as the cover of your preview video and in large-format collections of apps and games, where the edges may be cut off, so the logo, app name, slogan and main UI belong near the center. This guide quotes Google’s Play Console help as it read on 28 September 2026.
Feature graphic requirements and recommendations
From Play Console help on preview assets. Requirements are mandatory; the rest is what Google marks as highly recommended.
| Rule | Type | |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 1024 × 500 px | required |
| Format | JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha | required |
| Publishing | needed before the store listing can be published | required |

Frequently asked questions
What size is the Google Play feature graphic?
1024 × 500 pixels, as a JPEG or a 24-bit PNG without transparency. It is required before you can publish your store listing.
Where is the feature graphic shown on Google Play?
As the cover of your preview video, and in large-format collections of apps, including ads, and of recommended games.
Can I put text on a Google Play feature graphic?
You can, but Google asks you to keep it central and avoid words that suggest ranking, awards, price or promotions, such as “Best”, “#1”, “Free” or “Sale”, and to localize any branding text.
Why is my feature graphic cut off?
Some Google Play formats crop the edges or add UI overlays. Keep the logo, app name, slogan and main UI in the center, out of the cutoff zones, and use the edges only for background.
