Do you need to do anything?

Yes, accept it. Apple asks developers to sign in to their account to accept the updated terms. Only the Account Holder can accept, and until then App Store Connect can hold some actions behind the agreement notice, so a team member who sees it should ping the Account Holder rather than wait. Translations of the updated agreement arrive on the Apple Developer website within one month.

Selling seats and subscriptions to organizations

Two of the changes are about selling one subscription to more than one person. Schedule 2 adds terms for offering multiple seats for a subscription through Group Purchases, and Schedule 3 adds terms for offering subscriptions to Apple Business and Apple School Manager organizations through Volume Purchasing. They line up with the multiseat options Apple introduced for iOS 27; our guide to subscription Bundles, Suites and multiseat covers how they work in App Store Connect.

HomeView widgets and CarPlay apps

New definitions and Sections 6.4 to 6.4.2 cover iOS app widgets on Apple HomeView and making iOS apps for CarPlay available on Apple HomeView. If your app has widgets or a CarPlay experience, these are the sections to read, since they set the terms under which your content appears there.

Tax reporting and tax data

In both Schedules, Section 3.3(a) now says Apple will report legally required information such as tax, sales and contact details to tax authorities, and Section 3.3(b) restricts any customer tax information Apple shares with you to the purposes the law requires. In practice, keep that data out of marketing and analytics tools.

New API and entitlement terms

Section 3.3.8 gains terms for the Live Assistance API (3.3.8(j)) and the App Replacement Entitlement (3.3.8(k)), and Section 3.2 updates security requirements for using Apple software and services. Apple’s announcement does not describe the APIs themselves, so check their documentation before you adopt them.
