You see the location updates they share on a map, review trip history and recent routes, add places such as Home or School and get arrival and departure notifications for them, and anyone can send a manual check-in. Each member chooses whether to share and which permissions to grant, and the developer states plainly that it is a coordination tool, not an emergency service.
Place alerts and crash detection
Life360 offers location sharing, location history, crash detection and place alerts as people come and go from home, school or work, plus SOS alerts that send your precise location to family and emergency contacts. It also puts Tile Bluetooth trackers on the same map, so keys, a wallet or a pet show up next to the family.
Location sharing for iPhone families
Find My is Apple’s app: in the People tab you share location with friends and family to coordinate or to know when a family member has arrived home, and you can share for a number of minutes, hours or days, or until a date you set.
