Apps for electric scooters
An electric scooter pairs with its maker’s app: Xiaomi Home for Xiaomi scooters, Segway Mobility for Segway and Ninebot, Kugoo Riding for Kugoo, and the NAVEE, Minimotors Dualtron and Kaabo apps for those brands. Xiaomi Home, Kugoo Riding and NAVEE have a Ukrainian interface.
How we picked: only each brand’s own app, from its App Store and Google Play listing, plus Xiaomi’s own scooter pages. We compared what each says it does: activation, live battery and mileage, firmware updates, speed modes, lights and ride tracking. We left out third-party apps that promise to unlock speed limits.
Xiaomi scooter app
Xiaomi electric scooters connect to Xiaomi Home, the same app that runs other Xiaomi smart devices. Add the scooter, see its status live and share it with family. Xiaomi’s own scooter pages say features such as energy recovery are switched on and set in Xiaomi Home, and newer models get an upgraded interface there.
Segway-Ninebot: activation, firmware and speed mode
Segway Mobility covers the whole Segway and Ninebot range. It activates a new scooter in one tap with guidance for beginners, shows vehicle status, updates firmware and changes light effects and speed mode, and it can work as a Bluetooth remote. It also records your routes and has a rider community with a leaderboard and Q&A.
Kugoo, NAVEE, Dualtron and Kaabo
Kugoo Riding shows live charge and mileage, connects over Bluetooth, locates the scooter and lets you authorise relatives or friends to ride it. NAVEE is the brand’s own app for NAVEE scooters. Minimotors Dualtron shows battery, speed and mileage, lets you set riding parameters and has beginner videos and a rider community. Kaabo records your ride and track, runs a self-check of the scooter’s modules and has a riding ranking.
If the scooter will not connect
Add the scooter from inside its maker’s app rather than from the phone’s Bluetooth menu, and check the manual for which app your model uses: Kugoo, for example, has more than one. To track your rides for fitness instead, see cycling apps.
