Apps to measure land area
There are two ways to measure a field or a plot with a phone. On the map: Google Earth measures the area of a shape you draw on satellite imagery, and Planimeter 55 does the same with more control. On the ground: GPS Fields Area Measure records the edge as you walk or drive around it, and works offline. Field Area Measure, GPS Area adds AR for small spaces. For the official area of a plot in Ukraine, look it up by cadastral number on the public cadastral map.

Measure on the map
In Google Earth on a phone, tap Measure, move the map and tap Add point at each corner, then Close shape to get the area. Google notes that measurements may be less accurate over 3D terrain and buildings and recommends a top-down view. Planimeter 55 shows the area and side lengths live as you move the map, supports Google satellite maps and exports projects; it suits lawns, roofs, fences and fields.
Measure by walking the edge
GPS Fields Area Measure by Farmis records distance, perimeter and area as you walk or drive around a field, or lets you place points by hand. It works fully offline, saves projects with notes and photos and exports to KML, KMZ or Shapefile. Field Area Measure, GPS Area offers four modes: on the map, by GPS track, and in AR for a room or a table.
Official area of a plot in Ukraine
Derzhgeokadastr’s public cadastral map shows a plot’s boundaries, area, purpose and form of ownership. Enter the cadastral number from the extract or state act in the search box. Use phone measurements to check or plan, and the cadastre for the official figure.

Once you know the area, plan beds with garden planner apps or the whole yard with landscape design apps.
