Apps to sign documents with an e-signature on your phone
You no longer need a key file on a computer to sign in Ukraine. Diia has Diia.Signature, which you activate once with a biometric document and a face check, then confirm with a six digit code. Privat24 holds SmartID, a qualified e-signature you use by scanning a QR code. Vchasno is for businesses that sign contracts, acts and invoices with partners. All three are in Ukrainian.

Diia.Signature in the Diia app
In Diia you open Menu, then Diia.Signature, then activate it. You scan the code on your biometric document, hold the phone to the document so it reads the chip by NFC, pass a face check against the photo in the register and set a six digit code. To sign, you choose signing via Diia on the service, confirm the request in the app and enter the code. You need one of the biometric documents and your tax number in the state demographic register.
SmartID in Privat24
PrivatBank describes SmartID as a qualified electronic signature with the same legal force as a handwritten one. You need to be a PrivatBank client registered in Privat24, and it is created when you sign your first document and set a password. To sign, you pick SmartID on the document, scan the QR code with the Scanner button in Privat24 and enter the SmartID password. The bank lists Diia, the tax service and the driver’s cabinet among the places where it works.
Vchasno for businesses
Vchasno combines electronic document exchange and HR in one app. You exchange contracts, acts, invoices and other documents with partners and clients and sign them with an e-signature right from the smartphone, and employees can request leave while managers approve it in the app.
Which one to use
For a personal signature on state services, start with Diia.Signature. If you bank with PrivatBank, SmartID is already one step away in Privat24.
