Best browser apps in 2026

Chrome is the pick if you live in Google: Lens, Translate and Password Manager sync with your computer. Firefox blocks trackers by default and has a Reader Mode. Opera adds an ad blocker and a free built-in VPN with no login. Brave blocks ads and trackers on every site with nothing to set up. Edge puts Copilot next to every page. DuckDuckGo pairs its own private search with tracker and ad blocking.

How we picked: a browser has to be free, sync bookmarks and tabs or protect your privacy without extensions, and run on iPhone and Android. We checked each app’s own App Store description and whether it lists Ukrainian in the UA App Store.

If you use Google everywhere

Chrome searches with Google by voice, searches what is on your screen or in your camera with Google Lens, and translates whole sites in one tap. Google Password Manager generates and saves passwords and warns when one is at risk, and bookmarks, tabs and passwords sync with Chrome on your computer. Tab groups keep many tabs in order.

Privacy without setup

Firefox turns on Enhanced Tracking Protection from the first page, blocking social media trackers, crypto miners and fingerprinters, and its private mode saves no history, searches or cookies. Brave blocks ads, pop-ups, video ads and cookie banners on every site, strips tracking codes from copied links and can delete one site’s data with Shred while keeping your other logins. DuckDuckGo comes with its own search that does not track what you look for and blocks most trackers before they load.

A free VPN inside the browser

Opera has a built-in VPN that encrypts your browsing and hides your location, with no subscription, login or extension, turned on with one tap. It also has a native ad blocker, a search bar at the bottom for one-handed use and sync of tabs, bookmarks and speed dials with Opera on a computer.

AI next to the page

Edge has Copilot built in: it summarises articles, PDFs and videos, answers questions about the page and compares information across open tabs. It adds tracking prevention, AdBlock Plus and Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. Brave has a free assistant called Leo, Opera lets you ask its AI from the address bar, and Firefox summarises long pages.

Which one to choose

Already on Google services: Chrome. Want ads gone with no setup: Brave. Need a VPN for public Wi-Fi: Opera. Care most about not being tracked: Firefox or DuckDuckGo. Want AI to summarise what you read: Edge. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave and Edge list Ukrainian in the UA App Store; DuckDuckGo does not. Torn between the two best known? See Chrome vs Firefox.
