You add people by hand or import only the birthdays you choose from Contacts or Calendar, rather than pulling in everyone you have ever emailed, set reminders days ahead or on the day, and keep the list synced through your own private iCloud database, with backup and restore.
The free version covers a small circle, which suits close family and friends; a longer list, widgets and AI-written personal greetings need Lumday PRO. The store page is short, so do not expect gift planning or group features. It suits people who want birthday reminders separate from a noisy calendar and only for the people who matter.
