Local Journal is a diary that keeps everything on the iPhone. There is no account, no tracking and no sync run by the developer; when you back up, you choose where the file goes. Writing is free, with prompts for free writing, daily reflection and gratitude, a clean timeline, instant on-device search and plain-text export that stays free.
The one-time Premium purchase adds voice entries transcribed on the device, so audio never leaves the phone, plus Face ID or PIN lock, PDF and JSON export and backup import. Transcription is English only for now, and keeping everything local means a lost phone takes the diary with it unless you export. It is for people who want to journal but never liked the idea of their thoughts sitting on someone else's server.
