Persistent reminder apps: for the reminder you dismissed and forgot

A normal reminder fails in a very specific way. It arrives at a bad moment, you swipe it away meaning to come back, and that is the last you see of it. Persistent reminder apps refuse to go quiet. Due repeats a missed reminder every few minutes until you act, Alarmed pops alerts up like an alarm clock with flexible snooze, and Easy Reminders puts snooze and complete buttons right on the notification.

How we chose: established reminder apps whose App Store description centres on repeat alerts or snoozing, compared on what happens after you ignore a reminder. Features from each listing, read in October 2026.

A new reminder app that does not let go

A younger app from an independent developer in the Censuus catalogue.

Ranked by visit traffic and sponsorship on Censuus, not editorial opinion. The list changes as new apps appear and gain traffic.

The original nagger: Due

Due is built on one idea: a missed reminder should come back. Auto snooze nudges you again every 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes until you mark it done or reschedule it. For things that cannot wait, Critical Alerts get through silent mode and Focus, and Prominent Alerts ring like an alarm until you act. Setting a reminder is quick too, with natural language dates and twelve customisable quick times.

Reminders and timers together: Alarmed

Alarmed treats reminders like alarms: pop-up alerts, detailed repeat schedules, flexible snooze, and a large set of sounds. It also does timers with custom messages and queues, location-based reminders, and imports from Apple Reminders. Useful when the same app has to cover “take the bread out in 12 minutes” and “call the bank on Monday”.

Fast to handle from the lock screen: Easy Reminders

Easy Reminders is for the small things that do not belong in a calendar. Reminders pop up even when the phone is locked, and you can snooze or complete them from the notification without opening the app. A calendar view shows what is coming by day, week or month.

Which one to pick

You keep dismissing things and forgetting them: Due. You want alarms, timers and location reminders in one place: Alarmed. You want the fastest snooze from the lock screen: Easy Reminders. For waking up, see alarm clock apps; for birthdays, birthday reminder apps.
