How to organize loyalty cards on your phone
A wallet full of plastic loyalty cards is heavy, and the one you need is always at home. Most loyalty, membership and many gift cards work from a barcode, which means they can live on your phone. An afternoon of scanning gives you a lighter wallet and no more missed points.

Scan once, use everywhere
Most loyalty and membership cards are just a barcode or a number. Scan each one into a card wallet app, or add it to your phone’s wallet where the shop supports it. Name them clearly so you can find each at the till without scrolling.
Track gift card balances and expiry
Gift cards are easy to forget and many expire. Record the balance and expiry date when you add one, and update the balance after each use. A reminder before expiry turns forgotten cards back into money.
Test before you throw away
Use the phone version at the till before you discard the plastic. Some shops only accept their own app or need a physical card, and some barcodes scan poorly from a screen. Keep those few cards; everything else can go.
Keep it current
Delete cards for shops you no longer use and add new ones when you sign up. Compare apps in loyalty card apps.
