Bulls and cows rules: how to play
One side picks a secret number, usually 4 digits that are all different. You guess a number of the same length and get a clue back: a bull is a right digit in the right place, a cow is a right digit in the wrong place. Keep guessing until you get all bulls, in as few guesses as you can. One of the apps gives this example: the secret is 4596, you guess 5193, and the answer is 1 bull (the 9) and 1 cow (the 5). The same game is also called cows and bulls, pigs and bulls, or played with colours as Mastermind.
How to read the clues
Every answer narrows the options.
