Will U Be There solves one specific, oddly common problem: finding out a friend was in the same city as you — after you've both already flown home. You add the trips you have booked (a city and two dates), your friends add theirs, and when two trips overlap in the same place on touching dates, you both get a push while there's still time to meet. It does this without live location sharing: the app never sees your GPS, only the city and dates you typed. You can host your own event at a real address, send it to friends or chosen groups, and get answers back as Going or Maybe, with names; everyone attending gets a reminder and can open the venue in their maps app. Groups skip friend requests entirely — make one for a ski week or a conference (up to 200 people), drop the link in a chat, and anyone who joins and adds a trip shows up in your matches. Per trip, you choose which groups it’s allowed to match against.

Sign-in, cost, and reach

You sign in with Apple, Google, or a six-digit email code — no password to leak. It’s genuinely free: no ads, no ad SDK, nothing to buy, and you can delete your account from inside the app. It runs on iPhone with iOS 16.6 or newer and is available in seventeen languages.

Who it fits

Will U Be There suits people who travel — for work or fun — and hate discovering missed overlaps too late, and who specifically don’t want a live-location app. If you want constant real-time friend maps, this deliberately isn’t that; if you want privacy-first, dates-based overlap plus local event discovery, it’s a genuinely different take.
