How to buy a vignette with Vignette ID — and common questions

Vignette ID is designed to get you a valid road permit in minutes. Here’s the path from download to a purchased vignette, then straight answers to the questions drivers ask first.

The steps below follow the purchase flow described in the live App Store listing (checked 2026-09-22); the answers cover coverage, payment and reminders exactly as the listing states them, with nothing invented.

Step 1 — Download and open

Get Vignette ID free from the App Store (iOS 13.0 or later). No payment is needed until you buy a vignette.

Step 2 — Pick your countries

Select every country your route crosses. You can add several in one order, plus Austrian tunnels if your trip needs them.

Step 3 — Add your vehicle(s)

Enter your vehicle details — and add a second car in the same order if you’re travelling in convoy.

Step 4 — Choose the validity period

Set how long you need coverage, from a few days to several months, so you only pay for your actual trip.

Step 5 — Pay and save the confirmation

Pay by card or Google Pay. Your vignettes are digital, so keep the confirmation handy, and leave notifications on for the expiry reminder.
